Limited tickets still available for Reach For A Dream’s Night of Dreams Gala Dinner
2018 marks the 30th anniversary of Reach For A Dream (RFAD) and on August 30, 2018, Emperors Palace will play host to Top Billing presenters, Ursula Chikane and Jonathan Boynton-Lee, as well as showcase leading home-grown entertainers – Mi Casa and The Soil. The Night of Dreams Gala Dinner will also feature a dream auction.
Individual seats can be purchased for R3000 each. Alternatively, there are 10 tables (of 10) still available at R30 000 (excl. VAT) for corporates to purchase and challenge competitors within similar business arenas, to support. Tickets include a three-course menu and open bar.
Says RFAD CEO, Julia Sotirianakos, “RFAD believes in the power of dreams. The intention of this exceptional night is to thank all those who have helped to inspire hope in the lives of children facing life-threatening illnesses over the past 30 years: the dream children, medical staff, volunteers, donors, sponsors, staff members, and all other role players. In addition, we continue our efforts to raise funding, in order to continue to encourage children to use their dreams, to fight their disease.”
Funds raised at the Night of Dreams Gala Dinner will greatly aid RFAD in continuing its 30 year commendable legacy of helping children with life-threatening illnesses. It costs approximately R4,000 to help fulfil a dream.
Now in remission, ex-RFAD Dreamer, Robyn van Rooyen, will be a special guest and performer on the night. Seven years ago, van Rooyen’s prognosis was extremely weak. She suffered from stage 4 Osteosarcoma (bone cancer.) Through sustained hope and RFAD support, she has overcome two relapses, and wrote an emotive song of gratitude. Titled, ‘Thank You,’ van Rooyen will perform her original song, with Mi Casa and The Soil, on the night of the gala dinner. Now christened the ‘RFAD 30 Year Anniversary Song’ ~ the professional musicians have been collaborating with van Rooyen on her lyrics, since March 2018, and there is much excitement surrounding the official release of this poignant piece of music.
The RFAD Night of Dreams Gala Dinner is a not-to-be-missed event, for so many significant reasons.
Concludes Sotirianakos, “If there are any would-be supporters unable to attend on the night, please kindly visit the RFAD website at: www.reachforadream.org.za. In observance and celebration of our 30th anniversary you can donate R30, which will make an indelible difference in continuing the lifeline of the ultimate dream machine, which is the RFAD foundation. There are also some wonderful gifts to purchase from the online shop ~ and we are always most welcome for any volunteers for our numerous projects.”
