Plug in and play for our less fortunate four-legged friends

Artists and musicians are invited to an open mic night with the aim of collecting blankets for animal shelters around Benoni.

Just five minutes more.

We all know this feeling…especially when we have to get up on a cold winter morning.

With a distinct chill in the air, it often seems more appealing just to hit the snooze button and roll over and go back to sleep.

Of course, we’re not the only ones who enjoy snuggling down under the covers…our furry four-legged friends do as well.

Keeping this in mind, artists and musicians are invited to an open mic night with the aim of collecting blankets for less fortunate pets that don’t have the opportunity to crawl under the covers and binge-watch their favourite TV series.

The event will take place on Wednesday, May 9, at The Bali Bar at Lemongrass Restaurant (38 Russel Street, Benoni) and will get underway at 7pm.

Entrance for members of the audience is R20 and a dog blanket. All the blankets collected on the night will be distributed to animal shelters around Benoni.

As this is an open mic night, the organisers are inviting musicians and artists to come plug in and play. There will also be prizes to be won on the night.

Members of the community are welcome to come and enjoy some good food, soulful music, an all-round good vibe and, at the same time, contribute to keeping our four-legged companions warm this winter.
