Zee has his eyes set on superstardom
Zamani Ngidi, better known as Zee, is an artist from Johannesburg.
Born in September 1991, Zee started rapping during his early childhood years.
During his high school years, he was affiliated with various rap entities until deciding to pursue a solo career from 2008. Between 2009 and 2011, he worked on his music and collaborated with local and United States artists and was placed on various mixtapes in the US.
He labeled this period as “a development phase in my musical journey which I deemed necessary. I made over 200 songs during that period and it’s all just putting in my 10 000 hours I guess, but I’m still pushing to be better.”
He has released two mixtapes; “Champagne & Heartbreak” in mid-2014 and the more recent “Give It Time” in late 2016, with the latter dawning over 2 000 downloads and 300 000 streams. He also has plans to release his debut album “Get It Done”.
“Give It Time” spawned a single, played on 5FM by DJ Fresh, called “I Love You All”, a rhythmic, synth driven number with a captivating hook and mesmerising flows.
“The music I make is art, it’s the narration of the world through my eyes. I feel like I resonate with people for the fact that the experiences I go through and theirs are similar. I just make songs about it,” says Zee.
“Ultimately, I just want people to be entertained, that’s my mission. I want to entertain the world and make people feel great, not only about themselves but in general.”
Zee is a rising star who has his eyes set on superstardom. With the future looking bright, his passion and drive have fans eagerly waiting for what’s to come.
