Miss Teen International Contestant Hopes to Inspire Others
Daniella Ribeiro, a high school student from Edenvale, has been selected to compete for the prestigious Miss Teen International 2017/2018 title later this year.
The event will take place in Charleston, West Virginia, USA, on August 5 and teenage girls from across the world will be competing for the coveted title.
“Hearing from the director and organisers that I was selected to represent SA was the most amazing experience of my life. It was a dream come true.” said Daniella
Daniella hopes to inspire and use her voice as a positive beacon to encourage a positive self-image, confidence and social responsibility amongst young girls in South Africa and across the world.
“I believe we, as the youth of this country, need to work together to create a better future and support those in need,” said Daniella.
Daniella is a fun-loving young girl who is passionate about life, horse riding and good food. As part of her Miss Teen SA International campaign, Daniella will be raising funds for Dignity Dreams – a NGO that manufactures washable sanitary ware for underprivileged girls who cannot afford to buy their own. This is a cause that is close to her heart.
“I want to help as many young girls as I can to be able to have the opportunity to make a positive difference in their own lives and communities,” said Daniella.
“By them having sanitary ware, they will be able to go to school confidently and achieve their dreams as well.”
In October 2016 Daniella was chosen as first runner-up in the Miss Teen Social Entrepreneur SA 2017 Program and looks forward to utilizing her skills, knowledge and experience to bring home the crown.
Daniella will also be raising funds for her trip to the USA over the next two months and is looking for sponsorships or donations to support her journey.
